A) Banner
This includes the ADB Online heading, six images, six tabs and Quick Search. The banner appears on all pages of the website.
Portraits
The six portraits represent some of the people listed in the ADB Online. Click on a portrait to go directly to the relevant biography.
Tabs
The six tabs on the bottom left-hand corner of the banner are used to jump from section to section:

Return to the Home page
Advanced Search
Search on well defined parameters. Refer to the Advanced Search help section for more details.
Browse
View people, occupation and author indices. Refer to the Browse help section section for further details.
About
Find out about the principles, functions and processes involved in creating the ADB Online.

Quick Search
The Quick Search box in the far right-hand corner (under the images) provides an unrefined or all inclusive search. Refer to the Quick Search help section for further details.
B) Born this day
Displays an abridged biography of a person born on the present day. To view all people born on this day click on the All births and deaths on this day link at the end of the section.
C) Browse
Groups biographies alphabetically according to the subject's name, the subject's occupation and the author's name. Refer to the Browse help section section for further details.
NOTE: The browse function is accessible from each web page via the Browse tab.
D) Advanced Search
Provides a refined search on the people, resources and authors of the ADB Online. Refer to the Advanced Search help section for more details.
